The Foreign Minister informed the EU Special Representative about the situation around prisoners and the border
Baku/01.06.21/Turan: On the evening of May 31, at the initiative of the EU Special Representative for South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, Toivo Klaar had a telephone conversation with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.
According to the press service of the Foreign Ministry, in the course of talks Bayramov informed Klaar about six Armenian prisoners of war.
In particular, he noted that these soldiers had been detained while mining the territory of Azerbaijan. This happened at a time when great efforts have been made to demine the liberated territories of Azerbaijan. That said, actions of this sort are absolutely unacceptable, the Minister stressed.
As for tensions on the border between the two countries, Bayramov noted that current differences should be removed talks. Azerbaijan has agreed to set up a trilateral commission on delimitation and demarcation of the border.
During the conversation, the situation in the region, implementation of the trilateral statements and tensions on the border were also discussed, the report said.-0-
