�The Heart of Asia: The Istanbul Process� Meeting Opened
Baku / 01.12.17 / Turan: The 7th meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Middle East countries, known as the "Heart of Asia - Istanbul Process", opened in Baku today.
The theme of the meeting is the security of the region in the light of the restoration of normal life in Afghanistan and international support for this country.
The Presidents of Azerbaijan and Afghanistan, as well as the Foreign Ministers of Turkey, Pakistan and Iran, the State Minister of India, the Deputy Foreign Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, the special representatives of Russia and China on Afghanistan, the delegations of the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, as well as special representatives of the UN Secretary General for Afghanistan and Central Asia participated in the opening.
Representatives of Great Britain, the USA, Japan, Spain, Norway, Denmark, France, Finland, Poland, Egypt, Sweden, as well as the European Union, NATO, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Shanghai Cooperation Organization, etc. also take part in the event. -02D-

On November 26, the Baku Court of Appeals heard a complaint regarding the extension of the detention of former diplomat Emin Ibrahimov. During the hearing, the investigator requested that the complaint be rejected, while Ibrahimov's lawyer, Aghil Laidj, pointed out the lack of grounds for keeping Ibrahimov in custody.

Arrested economist Fazil Gasimov has reportedly faced pressure after protesting the interruption of a phone call with his family on November 16. "The phone call was cut off, and Fazil demanded that the connection be restored. Then, Jalal Alizadeh, a detention center officer, along with his colleagues, forcibly removed Fazil from the phone room in the medical unit of the facility, tearing his jacket and dragging him across the floor before throwing him into a cell.

Polish President Andrzej Duda, who is on an official visit to Yerevan, stated the need for peace and stability in the Caucasus. During a joint press conference with Armenian President Vahagn Khachatryan, he noted that Poland is ready to support the peaceful settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict.
