The investigation in the case of NIDA activists finished
Baku/24.09.13/Turan : The investigation on the case of the arrested members of the NIDA movement and "Free Youth." According to the lawyer Nemat Karimli, the completion of the investigation was announced on September 24. According to him , the health of young people is normal , they are now familiarizing with the case. The lawyer said that in the materials of the preliminary investigation there were the charges made against the activists before. Currently seven members of the NIDA are under the arrest.
Some of them were arrested on the eve of March 10, the day of the action against the soldiers' deaths, and some were arrested after that. They were accused of making "Molotov cocktail" to use during the campaign .
They were charged under the Articles: 234.1 ( purchase, possession and sale of drugs) , 228.1 (storage , acquisition, carrying weapons and explosives) , and 220.1 (organization of mass riots with arson and mass collision.)
In total, the young people can be imprisonment for up to 12 years. All of them have been recognized by "Amnesty International" as prisoners of conscience. -16D04-

On the evening of February 5, it was reported that journalist Shahnaz Beylargizi had been arrested. She had been a presenter on the Toplum TV channel for several years. After a criminal case was initiated against the channel in March 2024 and nearly all of its staff were arrested, Beylargizi was questioned multiple times. According to relatives, the police conducted a search of her apartment.
