The meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Caspian countries
Baku/05.12.23/Turan: The dialogue of the Foreign Ministers of the Caspian countries will be regular. It involves the development of five-party cooperation and the development of agreed measures, stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, opening a meeting of the foreign ministers of the coastal countries on December 5 in Moscow.
The deepening practical cooperation between the Caspian littoral states is relevant in the context of the formation of a multipolar world order, strengthening the positions of new centers of world development. The joint work of the Caspian countries makes a significant contribution to ensuring security, stability and sustainable development in the Eurasian continent, Lavrov said. The problems of environmental safety, the shallowing the Caspian Sea, and the conservation of its biological resources remain common challenges.
"According to the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea in 2018, only our "five" have exclusive competence in solving problems related to the Caspian Sea. We consider this to be the cornerstone of the emerging Caspian community, the key to participation in the development of the region and responsibility for the processes taking place in it," Lavrov stressed. -0-
