The meeting Sargsyan-Aliyev will be held with the participation of Foreign Ministers of the OSCE Minsk Group
Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is going to take part in the meeting of Azerbaijani and Armenian Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Serzh Sargsyan in Vienna on May 16 together with the heads of the US and France, John Kerry and Jean-Marc Eyraud foreign ministries, announced on Thursday an official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova. "The next week in Vienna will meet the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan; the meeting will be also attended by foreign ministers of the OSCE Minsk Group - Russia, US, France," she said.
Zakharov noted that the talk is namely about the plans. "We will let you know when there will be precise arrangements and timing," she said. Foreign Ministry spokesman added that Russia hopes that the meeting will contribute to improving the situation in the region. It should be noted that official Baku and Yerevan have not yet confirmed this information.
The Armenian side has categorically rejected the possibility of such a meeting, demanding security guarantees of non-resumption of hostilities and the presence of Nagorno Karabakh in the negotiations.
Baku considers it possible to negotiate under the condition if the Armenians withdraw from the occupied territories.-02D-
