The oppositionist is sentenced to 10 days of arrest for silent protest

Member of the Youth Committee of the Popular Front Party, Vugar Aslanov, was sentenced to 10 days of administrative arrest. According to the Youth Committee of the Popular Front, a young man was detained on Sunday at Fountain Square in the center of Baku, for expressing a silent protest, by covering his mouth with his hand.

According to the same source, the young man was arrested on charges of insubordination to the police.

PPFA has regarded the arrest of a young man, as a violation of freedom of assembly and expression. The protesters demanded the release of arrested youth activists.

Ehsan Zahidov, Deputy head of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, told Turan that Aslanov was arrested for "not obeying the law requirements, performing their professional duties." On the basis of the collected material, a protocol was drawn up, and the case was referred to the court, which determined the punishment.—16B06--
