The Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan continues to take necessary measures to expose the aggressive nature of the Republic of Armenia at the international level
Baku/13.11.20/Turan: The Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan has launched an investigation of the crimes committed against the Republic of Azerbaijan by members of the PKK-PYD-YPG terrorist organizations living in different parts of the Republic of Iraq, as well as by a citizen of the Lebanese Republic named Vartkes and others.
The investigation established that a group of persons belonging to the indicated terrorist organizations and living in different parts of Iraq, Lebanon and Syria, at the call of Aslan Murad Vartanyan, Bese Khozat and others, and under the leadership of Lebanon Karadag, Hemaran Kervachyan and Sarvat Bagopsha in March- April, 2016 and in October 2020, illegally crossed the internationally recognized state border of Azerbaijan from Armenia and entered Nagorno-Karabakh and other occupied territories. They were used by the military-political regime of Armenia as mercenaries against the civilian population and participating in the anti-terrorist operations of the armed forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The investigation also established that the members of the aforementioned criminal community participated in terrorist activities directed against the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Using ammunition and military equipment, they committed numerous crimes against civilians, carried out explosions, fires or other actions that threaten socially dangerous consequences and with the intention of national hatred.
Upon the fact, criminal proceedings were instituted by Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan under Article 100.2 (planning, preparation, implementation or conducting aggressive war), Article 120.2.1 (deliberate murder committed by a criminal association), Article 318.2 (illegal crossing the state border of the Republic of Azerbaijan) and other articles of the Criminal Code. The investigation was entrusted to the Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General's Office.
Intensive investigative measures in both criminal cases are underway. —06D-

On November 19, the Sabail District Court of Baku granted the prosecution's request to extend the pretrial detention of Talysh researcher Iqbal Abilov for another four months, his lawyer, Rovshan Rahimov reported. According to the lawyer, the defense considers Abilov’s detention to be unjustified and disputes the charges brought against him. Abilov himself also rejected the accusations. The defense plans to file an appeal against the court's decision.
