The regulation on the Transport Coordination Council has been approved
President Ilham Aliyev has officially approved the Regulation on the Transport Coordination Council, signifying a significant step in the country's efforts to enhance coordination and regulation within the transportation sector. The approval was granted on November 22, underscoring the government's commitment to improving various aspects of transport activities, including construction, organization, safety, and traffic regulation.
The Transport Coordination Council (TCS) was initially established as a collegial body through a presidential decree issued on April 19, 2023. Its primary objective is to streamline and enhance efforts in the transportation domain, a responsibility that was previously carried out by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.
One of the key provisions of the regulation stipulates that the execution of decisions made by the Council should be overseen and ensured by the state bodies and institutions that are integral members of the Council. The composition of the Council, including its chairman and members, is determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
As specified in the April 19 decree, the Chairman of the Transport Coordination Council is the Minister of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The Council's members include distinguished individuals from various relevant authorities, reflecting a multidisciplinary approach to addressing transportation-related matters. These members encompass:
Head of the Department of Transport, Communication, and Innovation of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Deputy Head of the Executive Power of Baku City.
Deputy Chairman of the Board of the State Agency of Highways of Azerbaijan.
Chairman of the Board of the Land Transport Agency of Azerbaijan.
Chairman of the Closed Joint Stock Company "Azerbaijan Railways."
Chairman of the Closed Joint Stock Company "Baku Metro."
This comprehensive composition of the Transport Coordination Council underscores the government's commitment to addressing transportation-related challenges and promoting efficiency within the sector.
