The results of the Belarus President’s visit to Azerbaijan
Baku/14.04.21/Turan: Belarus and Azerbaijan have agreed to move to a new stage of economic cooperation, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko told reporters following talks with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in Baku. During the talks on April 13-14, the parties confirmed strategic nature of relations between the two countries, and stated the absence of any problems or differences.
During the negotiations, much attention was paid to trade and economic cooperation and the transition to a new stage of cooperation. “The talk is about the transfer of technologies and the opening of new joint ventures in Azerbaijan: to create the necessary industries and new jobs,” Lukashenko said.
There is a great potential for cooperation in industry, agriculture, woodworking, information technology, health care, tourism, education, scientific-technical and military-industrial spheres.
Lukashenko offered to export to Azerbaijan a vaccine against coronavirus produced in Belarus using Russian technology. Following the talks between the heads of state, a number of bilateral memorandums were signed:
Between the Ministry of Agriculture of Belarus and the Food Safety Agency of Azerbaijan; between the Ministries of Energy of the two countries; between the National Tourism Agency of Belarus and the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan; between the Belneftekhim concern and the SOCAR company.
The negotiations took place at Aliyev's residence in the village of Zagulba, 40 km from Baku on the Caspian coast. The day before, Lukashenko and Aliyev had an informal one-on-one meeting for many hours. -02D-
