The summit of the countries of the "Silk Road" will be held in Tbilisi
Baku / 30.10.17 / Turan: The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway will become a new Eurasian bridge and will change the economic realities of the region, strengthen its transport and trade status, Prime Minister of Georgia Grigory Kvirikashvili stated at the opening ceremony of the BTK.
He drew attention to the fact that in addition to cargo transportation, BTK will serve up to 1 million passengers annually, which will give impetus to the development of tourism, create new jobs.
In his view, BTK's success is predetermined by the growth of economic ties with China.
Container trains departing from the PRC for BTK, will reach the addressee in Europe in just 8 days, said the Georgian prime minister. He also said that the summit of the countries of the "Silk Road" will be held in Tbilisi on November 28-29. -06D-

In Azerbaijan, the heads of several websites have been arrested on suspicion of extorting money from entrepreneurs, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reported. Complaints were filed with the MIA's Main Department for Combating Organized Crime regarding the actions of the website owners: Seymur Mammadov of Aztvnews.az, Zaur Ahmedov of Qaynar-xett.az, Eldaniz Mejdanov of Postbaku.net, and Elvin Gurbanov of Aja.az. The investigation revealed that they were operating as an organized group, extorting money by threatening to publish defamatory information about the entrepreneurs.
