The territories occupied by Armenia are plundered - Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry
Baku / 06.11.18 / Turan: 261,000 hectares of forests and natural monuments, such as 145 passported Oriental plane trees, were destroyed in the territories of Azerbaijan occupied by Armenia, stated in the comments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan in connection with the Day celebrated on November 6 against the exploitation of the environment during wars and armed conflicts. The great damage has been done to the nature of Azerbaijan and biological diversity. In addition, water sources are polluted in the occupied territories. So, because of the strong pollution of the Ohucha and Agstafachai - tributaries of the Araz and the Kura, a serious threat has been created for the animal world.
About 400,000 residents of the foothill and low-lying regions of Azerbaijan are threatened due to deliberate regulation of the water level in the Sarsang reservoir, when large areas are flooded in winter and a sharp water shortage is created in the summer.
163 mineral deposits, including gold, mercury, copper, lead, coal, etc., are plundered plastically.
Such a policy of exploitation of the environment and natural resources of Azerbaijan is another vivid example of the non-constructive position of Yerevan towards the sustainable development and progress of the region, the report says. -05D06-
