The trial in the case of Arsen Baghdasaryan will begin on April 13 (UPDATED)
Today in Ganja Serious Crimes Court held a preparatory meeting in the case of Armenian military Arsen Baghdasaryan, born in 1994, accused of sabotage and attempted murder. The judge Elbey Allahverdiev appointed the trial for April 13, the trial will be closed, according to a source in court. At the same time, it is impossible to get an answer to the question if Baghdasaryan recognized himself guilty. Baghdasaryan transferred to the Azerbaijani side in December 2014, and was declared a member of a subversive group. -02D-

On April 7 a preliminary hearing on the case of the Armenian military Arsen Baghdasaryan opened in the Court of Grave Crimes in Ganja. He crossed the front line on December 26, 2014 and was arrested. The Azerbaijani side considers him a member of a reconnaissance and sabotage group.
Sources in the court told Turan Baghdasaryan has been provided an interpreter and a lawyer and is contained in a special cell in the Ganja detention facility.
A number of serious charges have been put against him, including attempted murder, sabotage, etc. On these articles he faces up to 15 years in prison.
The Armenian side claims that at the time of capture Baghdasaryan was not a military and he moved to the Azerbaijani side by accident. -02D-

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) today issued five rulings on applications from Azerbaijan. The case of "Afgan Mammadov v. Azerbaijan" concerned the complainant's exclusion from the Bar Association. Mammadov was expelled based on a complaint filed by a colleague, which he considered unjust. The ECHR ruled that Mammadov's rights had been violated and ordered Azerbaijan to pay him €5,000 in compensation for moral damage and €1,000 to cover legal costs.

During the ongoing COP29 climate conference in Baku on November 14, a group of activists staged a protest condemning Russia's aggression against Ukraine. The activists also denounced countries that supply oil and weapons to nations waging aggressive wars. The protest featured placards with slogans such as: "From fossil fuels to peace!", "End war crimes!", "Punish the aggressor!", and "Phase out fossil fuel use to achieve peace!" among others.
