On April died Afrand Dashdamirov, the Academician of Azerbaijan, Member of the Moscow Academy of Social and Pedagogical Sciences, at the age of 73. In the 80s of the last century Dashdamirov held a high position of the Head of the Department of Agitation and Propaganda of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Azerbaijan. After the events of January 1990 he resigned. After Heydar Aliyev returned to power in 1993, Dashdamirov was in opposition to him, and left Baku for Moscow, where he lived for more than 10 years working in various positions in the Academy of Civil Service of the Russian Federation. In 2002, he was elected vice-president of the All-Russian Congress of Azerbaijanis, and was the editor of the newspaper "Azerbaijan Congress." In recent years he was a member of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. -02D-
