Salim Muslimov
Baku/08.08.22/Turan: On August 8, the Serious Crimes Court of Baku began the trial in the case of Salim Muslimov, the former Minister of Social Protection of the Population.
At a preparatory meeting lawyers raised a petition for the process to be closed, but the court refused. The trial on the merits is scheduled for 15 August.
*Muslimov headed the specified department in the period 2013-2018. After checking his activities during this period, in February 2021, the State Security Service arrested Muslimov. He was charged under Articles 308.2 (abuse of official position), 311.3.2 and 311.3.3 (repeated taking of large bribes).
He was later released under house arrest due to his health problems. A significant number of Muslimov's properties are under arrest.-16D-
