The Ukrainian criminal authority Oleg Krapivin, known as "Oleg Bakinsky", has been arrested in Azerbaijan
According to local media reports, Krapivin was detained by the employees of the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan.
By the decision of the Narimanov district court, a preventive measure in the form of arrest for a period of 3 months was chosen in relation to Krapivin. The charges against Krapivin have not been reported. The Azerbaijani Interior Ministry does not comment on reports of Krapivin's arrest.
Krapivin, a native of Azerbaijan, was a freestyle wrestler in the past, became the winner of prestigious international tournaments, including the European championships. Subsequently, he moved to Ukraine and actively participated in the life of the Kiev organization of the Congress of Azerbaijanis of Ukraine. However, he became more famous as a criminal authority.
"Oleg Krapivin is a famous criminal character. He is associated with the activities of the Avdyshev organized criminal group and the Zhuravly organized criminal group, which operated in Kiev in the 90s. For example, in 2019, he invited the famous human rights activist Eduard Bagirov to a meeting in a cafe. Oleg Krapivin and his henchmen beat up a human rights defender, took his passport, and threatened to kill his wife and children. In 2022, Krapivin shot at a Lexus LX 570 car in Kiev to intimidate an entrepreneur who did not want to pay money for the "roof". Oleg "Bakinsky" is also known for extortion, theft of people, contract killings, servicing the Yanukovych regime and his accomplices," writes ANTICOR (national anti-corruption portal of Ukraine).
In April 2022, Krapivin was awarded the Order of “Dostlug” (Friendship) in Azerbaijan "for services to strengthening friendship between peoples and the development of the Azerbaijani Diaspora."
