The U.S. state of Connecticut recognizes the Khojaly events
Legislative Assembly of the U.S. state of Connecticut passed a resolution recognizing the Khojaly massacre. The text of the document was passed on May 8 the counselor of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the United States, Mamed Talibov, by the Senator Andrew Maynard and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the State, Kevin Ryan, at the 3rd Annual Turkic Day at the State Capitol held in Hartford city of Connecticut, according to the Azerbaijani embassy in Washington.
A resolution recognizing the Khojaly events was adopted by the lawmakers of the U.S. states of Pennsylvania, Mississippi, Maine, Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Tennessee.
In addition, the Khojali events were recognized also by the parliaments of Mexico and Pakistan.
* On the night of February 25 to 26 the Armenian armed forces with the support of 366 infantry regiment of the Russian army seized the Khojaly city populated with Azerbaijanis. The military operation was accompanied by massacres of civilians; 613 people were killed, 487 people were wounded, 1275 were captured, the fate of many of them is still unknown.—06D-
