To visit of Foreign Minister of Lithuania
The Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičius starts an official visit to Baku on October 21.
As reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, the first day of his visit will be official. Next he will go to Shamkir for a meeting of the bilateral intergovernmental commission.
On the Lithuanian side the commission is headed by Linkevičius.
In Shamkir on 22-23 October, members of the intergovernmental commission will consider various aspects of the economic and humanitarian cooperation.
Recall that in early October Azerbaijan was visited by the Ministers of Defense and Transport of Lithuania. At the end of the month the delegation of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Lithuania will also visit Azerbaijan.
Note that in the Lithuanian Parliament there is a group of pro-Armenian deputies who lobby on Armenia's position on the Karabakh conflict. -02D-

On Monday, the Baku Serious Crimes Court sentenced Hasan Abbaszade, a member of the "Muslim Unity" Movement, to three years in prison. Initially, Abbaszade faced charges under Article 234.4.3 (large quantities of illegal drug trafficking) of the Criminal Code. However, following the judicial investigation, the charges were reclassified to a lesser offense under Article 234.1.1 (storage of drugs in large quantities not for sale).

Today, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. According to the website of the head of state, during the meeting, Aliyev emphasized that both countries "have always mutually supported each other and will continue to do so regarding territorial integrity and sovereignty."
