Tofig Yagublu's condition deteriorated
Tofig Yagublu, member of the National Council of Democratic Forces and Musavat Party Tofig Yagublu, detained in Baku pre-trial detention center-1, has deteriorated. However, he is not undergoing a medical examination. This was reported to Turan by the politician's daughter Nigar Hazi after a telephone conversation with her father.
According to her, it is suspected that there is a tumor in one of Yagublu's internal organs.
‘There is a need for early examination and treatment, for his condition is deteriorating. We approached the Prisons Service more than a week ago, but no examination has been carried out,’ Hazi said.
The Penitentiary Service has not yet responded to Turan's inquiry regarding Yagublu's daughter's statement.
It will be recalled that Tofik Yagublu was arrested on 14 December 2023 on charges of fraud, forgery and illegal production of official documents and the use of forged documents.
Yagublu described the charges as far-fetched. The politician has previously been repeatedly subjected to criminal and administrative prosecution. International organisations have recognized him as a prisoner of conscience.
