The trial is chaired by Elmin Rustam. Ishkhan Sargsyan and Vladimir Rafaelian are charged with terrorism using firearms.
Where and when the men were detained and what exactly they did is not reported. It is known that they were captured during the Second Karabakh War.
Dozens of Armenian military personnel captured during the war of 2020 have so far been convicted in Azerbaijan. All of them have been sentenced to various terms of imprisonment. Subsequently, some of those convicted were extradited to Armenia in exchange for maps of minefields. -02D-
