Turkey and Azerbaijan will strengthen military cooperation
Baku / 09.09.17 / Turan: Joint Azerbaijani-Turkish military exercises strengthen peace and stability, President Ilham Aliyev said today, receiving Turkish Defense Minister Nureddin Janikli. He also noted the importance of expanding cooperation in the defense industry. In turn, the Turkish minister noted that the joint production of military products is extremely important. "There was a time when we needed weapons, but no country sold them to us. In this situation, there was Azerbaijan. Therefore, we need to develop joint production of weapons," Janikli said. During the conversation with journalists after the meeting, Janikli said that it is necessary to put an end to the occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh. "These are Azerbaijani territories, sooner or later the Armenian occupation will be put to an end. For this, we must be strong and develop our own weapons system," he said. As for the ongoing joint military exercises, the Turkish minister noted that the number of such exercises will grow. Janikli will participate in the closing of joint exercises of the Air Forces of Azerbaijan and Turkey "TurAz Qartali - 2017". -02D-
