Türkiye will take fingerprints of all incoming travelers

The Turkish authorities have decided to take fingerprints from all individuals entering the country, though the exact start date has not been specified, “Sabah” reported, citing the country's Interior Minister, Ali Yerlikaya. "The minister announced that fingerprints will be taken upon entry to Türkiye, similar to practices in the U.S. and the U.K.," the publication states.

According to the Minister of the Interior, this new measure will also apply to those who have obtained temporary protection status in the country. Their identification cards will be equipped with chips. Yerlikaya stated that as of today, nearly four and a half million migrants are registered in Türkiye, with more than three million of them being Syrian citizens.
