Two youth activists arrested in Sheki
On September 17 at around 14:00 police arrested two youth activists - Vugar Rzayev (a member of the local branch of PFPA) and Ramiz Rzayev - coordinator of the Election Monitoring Center, according to the chairman of Sheki Branch of Popular Front Party, Ali Abdullayev.
Protocols have been drawn up, and they are charged under Article 298.2 of the Code of Administrative Offences. The Article provides a fine 500-1000 manat, public works up to 200 hours or five days in jail for participating in an unsanctioned street action.
It is expected that the activists brought to justice.
Ali Abdullayev said that the detainees were participants in the flash mob a month ago on the occasion of the birthday of the arrested human rights activist Rasul Jafarov.
The action took place in front of the walls of the ancient fortress, which was previously used as a prison.
On August 17 in Sheki were detained four other members of the shares. They were arrested for a few days, and fined 500 manats. During the flash mob activists photographed with posters on which was written - "Happy Birthday, Rasul". -03B-
