Ukraine and Azerbaijan cooperate to supply energy to Europe
Fourth meeting of the Council of Presidents of Ukraine and Azerbaijan chaired by Viktor Yanukovych and Ilham Aliyev took place in Kiev, the site of the president of Ukraine.
At the beginning of the meeting the Ukrainian President stressed that Ukraine appreciates friendly relations with Azerbaijan , its help and support. Azerbaijan at the time assisted Ukraine in the form of oil supplies. "In fact, we then have saved energy and agriculture," said the head of the Ukrainian state.
Ilham Aliyev , in turn , said that Azerbaijan values its relations with Ukraine and will work for their further development.
After the completion of the Fourth meeting of the Council of Presidents of Ukraine and Azerbaijan, Viktor Yanukovych and Ilham Aliyev, exchanged state awards. Aliyev, the head of Ukraine awarded the Order of Liberty , and the president of Azerbaijan awarded Yanukovych the Order of "Heydar Aliyev."
Then, in the presence of Yanukovych and Aliyev were signed: an intergovernmental agreement in the field of plant protection and quarantine ; consultation plan of the two foreign ministers on topical issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the years 2014-2014; cooperation between the executive branch of the Azerbaijani city of Gabala and Rivne region of Ukraine ; cooperation between the Institute of Cultural Studies Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan.
The interaction of Ukraine and Azerbaijan in the energy sector - one of the priorities , Viktor Yanukovych said after the talks . According to him , Ukraine - a reliable transit of energy resources , while Azerbaijan is their reliable supplier.
"Cooperation in the energy sector is one of the priority issues, and our country has all the conditions for joining the issues of transportation of hydrocarbons to Europe," said Yanukovych.
Aliyev noted that there are many areas for active cooperation between Ukraine and Azerbaijan in the energy sector.
"Azerbaijan as a manufacturer of energy and Ukraine, as a transit country, and the consumer plays an important role in ensuring the energy security of many countries, and cooperation in the Caspian- Black Sea region," he said.
Ukraine and Azerbaijan are interested in expanding economic cooperation. "We have to go on long-term planning of our relations , especially economic and trade. This approach will contribute to filling the strategic partnership as concrete content," said Yanukovych.
President stressed the unity of opinion with the President of Azerbaijan in the development and dynamics of the political dialogue between the two countries. "Today we are giving a clear message to our governments that they should not stop at this stage," he said.
According to him , the trust and constructive dialogue contributes to the development and deepening of the strategic partnership of Kiev and Baku.
Yanukovych also said that during talks with President Ilham Aliyev was discussed the possibility of the implementation of infrastructure projects. -02D-
