U.S. Ambassador discusses the election situation with the opposition
The U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Richard Morningstar, on Thursday held a meeting with heads of Azerbaijani opposition parties. The meeting was attended by Chairman of Popular Front Party, Ali Kerimli, deputy head of "Musavat", Gulaga Aslanly, leader of the EL Movement, Eldar Namazov, the head of the Majlis of «REAL» Movement, Erkin Gadirli, Chairman of the "Open Society" Sulhadin Akbar, the head of the Civil Solidarity Party, Sabir Rustamkhanly, the head of the "Umid" party, Iqbal Aghazadeh.
During the closed meeting for media they discussed the political situation in Azerbaijan ahead of the presidential elections.—03B06-

On the evening of February 5, it was reported that journalist Shahnaz Beylargizi had been arrested. She had been a presenter on the Toplum TV channel for several years. After a criminal case was initiated against the channel in March 2024 and nearly all of its staff were arrested, Beylargizi was questioned multiple times.
