U.S. Ambassador on the shootings at the front
U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Richard Morningstar expressed concern over rising tensions on the frontline in Karabakh.
Asked by journalists about ceasefire violations in the last days, the ambassador said that the OSCE Minsk Group made great efforts to prevent the growth of tension and ceasefire violations.
"I have said many times, and once again I want to emphasize that the death of every human being on the frontline is a tragedy. This must be brought to an end and is unacceptable. To this end, the conflict shall be finally settled. We will continue efforts in this direction,” he said.
Asked about the announced visit of Secretary of State Kerry to the region, the ambassador said that the Secretary of State is keen to visit the region, but the timing of the visit is not yet known. -06D-
