US Ambassador to Azerbaijan: Azerbaijan Important and Reliable Partner of NATO
Baku / 06.04.19 / Turan: The US Ambassador to Baku, Lee Litzenberger, delivered a message about NATO"s 70th anniversary this week and shared thoughts about an "important partnership" of the Alliance with Azerbaijan.
"This week marks the 70th anniversary of the creation of NATO. The purpose of the creation of NATO was to protect the participating countries on the principles of democracy, personal freedom, the rule of law and common heritage and culture. This mission has not lost its relevance even today, and its implementation benefits not only NATO members, but also other countries," Lee Litzenberger wrote on the Embassy"s Facebook page.
Azerbaijan is an important and reliable partner of NATO. This partnership is reflected in Azerbaijan"s contribution to supporting security in Afghanistan through the direction of the military and providing supply routes, as well as activities against terrorism and drug trafficking, the Ambassador continues.
"Working in the US embassy in Azerbaijan, we are making efforts to work together, being partners in NATO, in search of new opportunities to protect peace and stability," Litzenberger stresses. -06d--

Adalyat Verdiyev, the head of the civil defense staff at the public legal entity Center for Public Health and Reform under the Ministry of Health, and a military expert, has been arrested. On November 22, during a media tour to the liberated territories, Verdiyev filmed and published information and images on his social media accounts revealing Azerbaijani Armed Forces' combat positions in the heights, deployment sites, coordinates, and operational conditions of the border troops. This disclosure caused significant damage to the interests of state security and defense capability. This was stated in a report from the General Prosecutor’s Office.
