U.S. Helsinki Commission Members Meet with Opposition Leaders
Members of the National Council of Democratic Forces met today at the U.S. Embassy with members of the U.S. Helsinki Commission. "The theme of the meeting was the pre-election situation, the socio-political processes in Azerbaijan, the state of human rights, etc.," said Eldar Namazov, head of the Office of the National Council.
According to him, leaders of the four parties represented in the National Council, as well as representatives of the REAL Movement and the «Umid» party attended the meeting.
The meeting format was questions, answers, and exchange of views. Members of the HC were given documents that had recently been adopted by the National Council.
Members of the U.S. HC, which is headed by Christopher Smith, arrived in Baku for a three-day visit.-02В-
