In the first quarter of 2013, the Azerbaijani Airlines saved from cargo carriages 94.4 million manat. Revenue has increased by 26.6% compared to the same period of the previous year with an increase in freight traffic 2.4 times, according to the State Statistics Committee.
The balance profit from cargo airlines including transportation costs (72.3 million manat) amounted to 21.1 million manat. Production profitability of airlines in the first quarter exceeded 30.5%.
In January-March 2013 the total volume of freight carriages by air totaled 26.1 thousand tons, by 2.4 times more than compared with the same period of 2012. Transportation is carried out mainly outside the country.
The Airlines CJSC "Azerbaijan Airlines" are engaged in cargo transportation in Azerbaijan, "Turan Air", "Silk Way Airlines", "Silk Way West". The last three belong to the group of companies "Silk Way Holding". According to the State Statistics Committee, over 90% of revenue from freight traffic accounted for by the private sector. 08B
