The head of the Caucasus Muslims Department, Allahshukur Pashazade, received the Vatican Cardinal, Gianfranco Ravazini. The sides noted the high level of cooperation, noting that it should be continued.
Pashazade said that in 2014 it is planned to hold Interreligious Advisory Council of the CIS. According to him, as soon as the issue is resolved, he wills end invitation to Vatican. Cardinal Ravazini praised the project of Heydar Aliyev Foundation to restore the catacombs in Rome.
Today, the Vatican delegation was received by the President Ilham Aliyev.
The President awarded Cardinal a "Dostlug" Order (Friendship) for merits in strengthening bilateral ties.
