Washington"s Special Envoy for Women Traveling to Baku
As part of the European tour, the U.S. Ambassador at Large for Women Melanne S. Verveer will visit Baku.
As stated in the Department of State, the first stop will be the capital of Azerbaijan (till evening November 5), then she will go to Georgia, Poland and Ukraine.
Subject to negotiation at the meetings is gender equality and advancement of women in the region.
According to the same source, in Baku, she will meet with government officials and civil society activists to discuss women's issues and to offer U.S. support to efforts to empower women. -17D-
