Week of Netherlands in Azerbaijan
The Dutch trade mission headed by Senator Rene van der Linden April 22 arrives in Baku. The visit is timed to the week of the Netherlands in Azerbaijan, which will be held April 22-26, and is dedicated to the national holiday - the Day of the King, celebrated on April 26.
The structure of the trade mission includes 20 businessmen representing the steel, aluminum and medical industry, as well as water management, information and communication technology, education, logistics and transportation.
About it, the Dutch Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Robbert Gabrielse said at today’s press conference.
The delegation, which was invited by the University ADA, will hold meetings with the Ministers of Industry and Economy and c companies in Azerbaijan.
According to 2013, the volume of Dutch investments in Azerbaijan reached $ 180 million. However, as the Ambassador Gabrielsen stressed, these funds are invested in the non-oil and non-financial sector.
The trade turnover between the two countries in 2013 amounted to about $ 160 million with almost equal volumes of exports and imports.
The Ambassador also pointed out the great potential for cooperation in the field of agriculture, as well as in connection with the upcoming 2015 European Games in Azerbaijan.
Within the week of the Netherlands, measures will be also taken in the field of culture, art and education. For example, among students there will be organized competitions in table tennis and field hockey, and drawing.
At the University of ADA a gala night will be held, and on April 26 the Jazz Center will host a concert with the singer Amina Figarova . -06C-

On the evening of February 5, it was reported that journalist Shahnaz Beylargizi had been arrested. She had been a presenter on the Toplum TV channel for several years. After a criminal case was initiated against the channel in March 2024 and nearly all of its staff were arrested, Beylargizi was questioned multiple times. According to relatives, the police conducted a search of her apartment.

On February 5, President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine. According to the document, the Ministry of Energy has been allocated 1 million US dollars to purchase and send electrical equipment, manufactured in Azerbaijan, to Ukraine.
