Yeni Musavat newspaper editor loses mandate
Baku/13.02.20/Turan: On February 13, the CEC canceled the results of parliamentary elections in another constituency - Khatai 35th, where the editor of the Yeni Musavat newspaper Rauf Arifoglu was declared the winner.
This was announced at a meeting of the CEC. The decision was made after checking the complaint of the candidate Igbal Agazadeh, said CEC member Ramiz Ibrahimov.
During the verification of videos published on social networks, the expert group found serious violations of the law, he said. In particular, voting protocols were not issued in 30 of the 33 polling stations. This means that it was not possible to establish the choice of voters. Therefore, the voting results were invalidated, he said. -03D-

"The whole question is about the timing, we need to understand how effectively and correctly to turn such topics into a subject of discussion right now," the Armenian Prime Minister added.

On August 31, Azerbaijan observes a "day of silence" before the Sunday’s early parliamentary elections for the unicameral Milli Majlis. All electoral campaigning is prohibited 24 hours before the voting. The early elections were initiated by the ruling Yeni Azerbaijan Party. This decision was motivated by the overlap of the scheduled elections in November with the global UN forum - the COP20 climate conference taking place in Baku.
