Yerevan acknowledged that Azerbaijani transport will be able to travel freely to Nakhchivan
Baku/23.08.22/Turan: The National Security Service of Armenia made an important statement on Monday regarding the possible transit of vehicles from Azerbaijan to Nakhchivan.
In particular, the National Security Service denies that in case of such transit, roads of local and international importance in Armenia will be closed.
Three new checkpoints that will be opened in Yeraskh (border with Nakhchivan), Sotka (Kelbajar) and Karaunj (Gubadly) "will make it possible for motor transport from the Republic of Azerbaijan to transit to the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic," the message says.
At present, possible routes and transit procedures are being developed following which there are no plans to close and/or make other restrictions on the movement of the Armenian population and foreigners, the National Security Service of Armenia notes.
Official Baku did not comment on this message.
It should be noted that earlier it was mentioned about one highway that will pass through Zangezur (Syunik), parallel to the railway from the western part of Azerbaijan through the Armenian Meghri to Nakhchivan. -02B-
