Yerevan wants to open a road to Iran through Nakhchivan, without waiting for the opening of the Zangezur corridor
Baku/22.12.21/Turan: The working group on unblocking regional communications is discussing the option of a phased opening of the Yeraskh-Horadiz railway. Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Mher Grigoryan said this on Wednesday, commenting on the results of the discussions of the trilateral Working Group of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan.
One of the options being discussed assumes, without waiting for the construction of the Meghri-Minjivan-Horadiz section, to open a message for Armenia through Nakhchivan to Iran.
"This is desirable for us, since it does not require construction and can be carried out with the existing infrastructure," Grigoryan said.
The issue of opening the Ijevan-Gazakh railway was also discussed, but at this stage "realistic projects" are being considered, Grigoryan added.
As for the restoration of railway communication with Turkey, so far this has been considered at the conceptual level, Grigoryan noted. -02D-
