Yet, Azerbaijan Closes Border with Iran
Baku / 29.02.20 / Turan: Taking into account the recommendations of the World Health Organization and the experience of other countries, it was decided to close the border between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran during a two-week interim period from 16:00 on February 29 due to the spread of the risk of corona virus.
This was reported in the report of the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan, published on Saturday afternoon.
The situation was discussed with Iranian state bodies, which were informed about this decision.
Together with the Iranian authorities, the necessary corridor will be provided for the departure of Iranian citizens from Azerbaijan and the arrival of Azerbaijani citizens from Iran under the appropriate regime.
If necessary, the citizens of Iran will be issued humanitarian visas. -02D-
