Youth activist Ilkin Rustamzade is arrested for two months

Nasimi District Court today arrested Ilkin Rustamzade, the activist of the "Free Youth" Movement, for a period of two months. The young man was charged under the Articles 221.2.1 of the Criminal Code (hooliganism in a group of persons) and 221.2.2 (hooliganism with resistance to authorities.)

The activist is charged with organizing a flash mob Harlem-shake (young people perform a dance in the style of the inhabitants of New York's Harlem quarter) and the placing the video on the campaign in social networks.(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFb7DJAv138).  

The lawyer Nemat Karimli called the charges absurd.

According to the lawyer, Rustamzade has nothing to do with the organization of the action or placing   the video on the Internet.

Even if the activist had done it, there was not any criminal in this campaign, the lawyer said. Under these Articles the  activist can be imprisoned up to  five years.

Ilkin Rustamzade is an active user of social networks and had previously been involved in the groups that organized the protests through facebook. For participation in such actions, he has been repeatedly  subject to administrative arrests. -16B06-

The activist of Free Youth Ilkin Rustamzadeh, called to the Investigation Department of Grave Crimes Prosecutor General, was arrested and taken to the Nasimi District Court.

According to the lawyer, Rustamzadeh has nothing to do with shooting the video or placing it on the Internet.
