Youth PFPA activist T.Alisoy declares torturing him in Khatai police
Turkel Alisoy, a youth activist of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA), who was arrested for 20 days, was subject to ill treatment and tortures after being detained in the Khatai police. Alisoy himself told about it in his appeal to the PPFA Youth Committee from the Binagadi prison. The text of his appeal was placed on the webpage of the Youth Committee of the PPFA in Facebook.
According to the activist, on March 5 unknown girl call on his mobile phone and introduced herself as a friend of Bahruz Hasanli, previously arrested for 20 days. The girl asked Alisoy to take a parcel for Hasanli who is in prison.
When Alicoy was waiting for the girl near the "Khagani" Mall, he was detained by four law enforcement officers, and taken to the Khatai District Police. There he was beaten, and demanded "to work for the police." Then he was taken to the 35th branch of Khatai District Police Office.
"There a chief Javid Usubov ordered to handcuffed me to a chair. he ordered to keep me in such state for 14 hours without any food, water and cigarettes. In the morning they ordered me to wrote that I resisted police," wrote Alicoy.
When Alisoy refused to sign the protocol he was offered a choice: either he would be accused of illegal drug possession, and he will be brought to justice for it, or he would admit not subordination the police, and will have only administrative punishment. The young man was forced to sign a confession of not subordinate police.
Then he began was beaten badly again, and they demanded that Alisoy "helped" in the arrest of Elnur Majidli ( PFPA activist , former "prisoner of conscience.") Alisoy refused and was beaten repeatedly.
According to Alisoy, police also informed him that they have a complaint from the landlord of the flat which Alice previously rented . The owner complained that Alice allegedly stole money from the apartment, and did not pay the rent.
PPFA believes that Alisoy is persecuted for political reasons, and has been arrested for participation in the march on February 26 near the memorial to the victims of the Khojaly genocide. In connection with this march five other activists of PPFA were also arrested, stated the party.
