Cancellation of VAK registration will affect relations Baku-Moscow, Musabekov
The appeal of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation to the Supreme Court on the liquidation of the registration of the All-Russian Azerbaijani Congress (AAC) is not a manifestation of a good relationship, said in an interview with Turan the Azerbaijani MP, political scientist Rasim Musabekov. In his opinion, the cancellation of the registration of the AAC can have a negative impact on bilateral relations.
In connection with the lack of official information, the deputy found it difficult to comment on the claims of the Ministry of Justice. He believes, there may be formal reasons associated with changes in legislation. "I believe that in Russia they understand that the principle of reciprocity is not abolished in politics. Someone may argue that the AAC maintains close ties with the Azerbaijani embassy. However, the Russian community of Azerbaijan maintains close ties with the Russian embassy, and we do not see anything reprehensible in this," Musabekov said. If the registration of the AAC is revoked, this will negatively affect bilateral relations, he stressed.
It is impossible to prevent Diaspora activities, since the AAC can function as a coordinating council of Azerbaijani organizations. Is there a political background in this issue? Answering this question, Musabekov said that the validity of the claims of the Ministry of Justice will become clear in court.
He did not rule out that one of the reasons could be that the FSB cannot control the AAC, and therefore it was decided to ban the organization.
"In Russia, there is a process of subordination of public organizations by administrative bodies. In Russia there are also pseudo-Diaspora organizations, such as the Cultural autonomy of Azerbaijanis. I do not exclude that the Russian authorities want to expand the field for their organization and therefore repair obstacles not controlled by the AAC," Musabekov said.
Are there possible counter-steps from Baku? Musabekov gave negative answer to this question.
"We opened these schools, universities, not in order to please Russia. This is in our interests. As for the Russian community of Azerbaijan, we treat it as our own organization, " Musabekov said. -03 / 16D-
