The leadership of ANS does not comment on the issue of a lawsuit in the European Court of Human Rights

Radio "Svoboda" reported today without a reference to the source about the filing of a lawsuit filed by the ANS television station with the European Court of Human Rights. The report says that the ANS claims violation of its rights under Articles 6 (fair trial) and 10  freedom of expression) of the European Convention on Human Rights. The ANS leaders hid themselves and do not give comments. Earlier, they stated that they would not appeal to international structures, because they did not want to damage the image of Azerbaijan.

In addition, they openly appealed to Ilham Aliyev,  and claimed that they were "uncomfortable" because they caused so much inconvenience to the authorities. It should be reminded that the National TV and Radio Council of Azerbaijan deprived the channel of the license due to violations of the country's legislation, accusing it of supporting a coup d'état in Turkey in the summer of 2016. The Azerbaijani courts upheld this decision, rejecting the complaints of the channel. -02B-
