It is useful for Azerbaijan to participate in the Non-Aligned Movement, MP
Baku / 05.04.18 / Turan: The importance of Azerbaijan's participation in the Non-Aligned Movement is that this organization includes 120 states, that is, the majority of the UN members. The issues discussed by the Movement are then submitted to the UN, MP Rasim Musabekov said in an interview with Turan, commenting on the holding of the ministerial conference of the Non-Aligned Movement in Baku. e drew attention to the fact that delegations of 120 states arrived in Baku, including representatives of 70 foreign ministries. "Azerbaijan at this event was able to draw attention to the Karabakh conflict," Musabekov said, recalling that next year the chairmanship in the organization will be transferred to Azerbaijan.
"There is no secretariat, no government, no apparatus. Within three years we will preside over the organization. We will try to draw attention to our problems, including the issue of the situation in the occupied territories, which is on the agenda of the UN General Assembly," Musabekov said.
Membership in the Non-Aligned Movement is a signal that we do not plan to deploy military bases of other states on our territory. This is important and demonstrates that Baku does not intend to invite NATO forces to its territory and not to irritate Russia and Iran.
At the same time, membership in the Movement does not mean that Azerbaijan undertakes not to conclude military agreements with other states. -16 / 03 / 06A-
