Shahin Hasanli: Whole Society Should Be Alert
The Muslims must be in the first place in strong condemnation of the terrorist attacks in Paris and announce the absence of any link between religion and these phenomena. One of the most influential religious figures of Azerbaijan, head of the community Mashadi Dadash Shahin Hasanli told Turan IA.
At the same time, he considers it necessary to state clearly and precisely that there cannot be good or bad terrorism, that is, those acts cannot be justified from a political point of view.
"Killing people by using the principle of "collective guilt" is unacceptable and must be unequivocally condemned," he stressed.
When asked what the Muslims should expect in Europe, Hasanli noted that the situation will deteriorate. So, already there are reports of the burning of mosques in France.
The process has reached the stage, at which normal perception of Islam is much more difficult. Remedy of the situation will be a long-term one.
"So now sharply increasing is the role of religious leaders in the Islamic countries. If they lose the initiative and the radicals manage to gain it, the possibility of influencing the youth will be missed and the vacuum will be filled by militant elements, which have already largely perverted the religion and will do it further," he said.
This will lead to the fact that Islam will be completely compromised and discredited, he said.
Hasanli called "unacceptable" attempts to flirt with and use radicals for political purposes by certain states. That is how Al Qaeda, Taliban and then ISIS appeared.
"They will destroy not only people of other religions, but also their own creators.
Despite the savagery of ISIS, today certain parties buy their oil, trying to justify them and cooperate with them. This is a very dangerous approach," said Hasanli.
On the question of how the events will affect the religious situation in Azerbaijan, Hasanli said that radicals do not have a social base in the country. "However, there is no reason for the calm and the whole community should be alert and think of the possible scale of the danger, and assess the time to stop the threat," said Hasanli. -05B-
