The authorities expect the arrival of 20 heads of state at the opening of the European games
Corporate Director of Operations Committee of European Games- 2015 Elchin Safarov in an interview with Turan said that the upcoming first European Games will be attended by 6200 athletes from 50 countries. They will participate in 20 sports, of which four are not Olympic.
Active preparing for the opening ceremony is ongoing, and will be attended by about 6,000 volunteers.
Competitions will be held on seven capitally repaired and six purpose-built stadiums and facilities.
Particular attention is paid to the solution of transport problems, since the objects are scattered throughout the city, and spectators and participants have to travel to different parts. Everything will be done to avoid the traffic jams.
The arrival of 20 heads of states to the opening ceremony is expected, and a number of official and unofficial guests will be 10,000 people. At today's opening ceremony have been sold 25% of tickets, to various sporting events - 10%. Most of all tickets were bought in Europe.
At the Games theer are 1500 accredited journalists from 57 countries, said Safarov. Many international human rights organizations appealed to the leaders of European countries not go to the opening of the games, if about 100 political prisoners in Azerbaijan are not released.-03D-
