174 kilograms of drugs seized in three weeks - Interior Ministry
Baku/27.02.23/Turan: During operations in the last 20 days, employees of the Main Drug Control Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained 38 members of 3 organized groups, from whom 174 kg of various drugs were seized, as well as 6 thousand ecstasy and methadone tablets.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the detainees are connected with a network engaged in smuggling large quantities of drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan.
Malik Agayev, Kanan Jafarov, Alyshan Gadirov, Ramil Kerimov and Samir Mahmudov are among the detainees and are considered the main suppliers of drugs in the country, the report said.
It was established that Malik Agayev, who was detained in the Astara district with 40 kg of heroin, methamphetamine and marijuana, planned to sell drugs in Baku. He got drugs from a drug dealer in Iran.
According to the facts, a criminal case has been initiated under the relevant Articles of the Criminal Code, the detainees have been arrested. Operational measures to detain other members of the drug network are continuing. ---0---
