408 Students from Azerbaijan Trained in USA
The Open Doors Report reflecting statistics on International Educational Exchange USA, released the day before, showed an increase in the number of students studying in America.
As stated in the press release of the US Embassy in Azerbaijan, the growth of foreign students was 10%. The total growth was 974.926 people in the 2014/2015 academic year.
The Open Doors Report is published annually by the Institute of International Education, together with the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs US Department of State.
According to the new report, in the 2014/2015 academic year 408 students from Azerbaijan studied in the U.S.
Publication of the report is dedicated to the International Education Week aimed to attract future leaders from abroad to learn and exchange experiences in the United States.
The International Education Week is an event held by the organization Education USA in Azerbaijan, which attracts students, informs them about the US education system and increases the academic mobility of the U.S.
Students from Azerbaijan study in the US at pre-diploma levels of education, 38% of them are trained at a bachelor’s level, 42% - at a pre-diploma level, 13% attend special practical courses and 7% are involved in programs without assigning academic degrees such as a program to learn the English language and short courses.
Of the more than 20 million students studying in US universities, students from foreign countries make up almost 5%, which is equal to almost four percent increase compared to previous years. This growth is due to both the growing number of international students and the decrease in the number of American students in US universities.
