A female wrestler from Azerbaijan won the silver medal in the Olympics
The representative of Azerbaijan Maria Stadnik won the silver medal in the London Olympics in women's wrestling 48 kg). On Wednesday, winning three fights, 24-year-old Stadnik in the final lost to the Japanese Hitomi Obara.
Despite winning the first round with a score of 4-0, in the second part Stadnik lost 0-1. In an additional third round the highly experienced, 7-time World Champion Obara was stronger and won with a score of 2:0.
Thus, Stadnik earned the second silver medal for Azerbaijan at the London Olympics.
For Stadnik, a native of Ukraine, this is the second Olympic reward. 4 years ago in Beijing, she won bronze at the Olympic Games.
Stadnik in the eighth finals defeated American Clarissa Chun with a score of 2:0 (2:0, 3:0).
In the quarterfinals Stadnik overcame Ivana Matkowski from Poland 2-0 (2-0, 4-1).

After that, Stadnik accepted the offer from Azerbaijan and successfully debuted at the Beijing Olympics.
With his victory Stadnik brought Azerbaijan the fourth medal of the London Olympics.
