A group of persons accused of involvement in the war Palestine and Syria is arrested
Azerbaijani National Security Ministry announced the arrest of a group of citizens of the countries suspected of involvement in terrorist formations consisting of "Taliban" and "Islamic state."
According to the report of the Centre of Public Relations (CPR) of the Ministry of National Security (MNS), the suspects in the creation and participation of illegal militia, supplying them with weapons, ammunition, explosives, military equipment, inciting religious hatred have been detained Azerbaijanis: Garagozov Aydin, Ramizzade Hafiz, Bakirov Telman , Tairov Mubariz, Javid Gasimov, Velizade Fazail and Mammadov Tural.
On the fact the Central Investigation Department of the National Security Ministry filed a lawsuit under the Articles of the Criminal Code: 12.1 (commission of a crime in a foreign country), 279.1 (creation is not provided by the law of armed formations or groups) and 283-1.3 (inciting religious hatred.) All these persons were arrested.
The investigation revealed that Garagozov (in 2011-2013) and Ramizzade (in 2007-2012) participated in the armed groups in Pakistan. In 2014-2015 Bakirov, Tairov, Gasimov Velizade and Mammadov participated in the armed groups in Syria and Iraq, including terrorist organization LIH. The investigation is ongoing, the report said.
The circumstances of the arrest and the details concerning the cooperation of Azerbaijani citizens with religious radicals were not disclosed. The MNS has reported the arrest of several groups of citizens on similar charges. According to unofficial information, the number of Azerbaijanis fighting in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc., is several hundred people. -06В-
