A lasuit initiated on the case fire in the 16-storey building
A lawsuit has been filed in connection with the fire in the 16-storey residential building at Azadlig Avenue, the Serious Crimes Investigation Department of the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan. An operational investigative group of employees of the Prosecutor General, the Interior Ministry and the Emergencies Ministry has been created, says the official report of these three departments.
The investigation is carried out under the Articles: 225.2 (violation of fire safety rules, resulting in death), 308.2 (abuse of power), 314.2 (negligence resulting in grave consequences). The investigation is under the control of the President of Azerbaijan, it said in a statement.
According to the same source, 15 people were killed and 26 were hospitalized with poisoning products of burning and injuries of varying degrees; 27 residents were evacuated, 37 people rescued.
