A lawsuit has been filed against activist and blogger in the city of Mingachevir
Baku/10.06.20/Turan: On June 12, a meeting in the case of activist Elchin Hasanov is scheduled in the Mingachevir city court.
The lawsuit was filed as a private criminal charge by the head of the city housing and operational department Shakhriyar Mustafayev. He demands to bring Hasanov under the Article 147.1. (defamation) and 148 (insult) of the Criminal Code.
The reason for the lawsuit is critical publications about the official in social networks. Hasanzadeh claims that Mustafayev evicted him from a rented apartment where the activist lived.
Hasanzadeh also noted that he was repeatedly subjected to pressure for criticizing local officials.
“Just yesterday, I was fined 50 manats on a far-fetched charge of petty hooliganism. Allegedly, I was expressing myself on the street addresslessly. This is absurd,” Hasanzadeh told Turan.
He believes that the Mingachevir court should not consider this case, since it is registered in the city of Sumgait.
The plaintiff was inaccessible for comment. — 06D-
