A new law banning smoking in public places is under preparation
Azerbaijani authorities plan to significantly restrict smoking in public places. A corresponding bill was discussed today at a meeting of parliamentary committees on human rights, labor and social policy.
It is expected that smoking will be banned in educational institutions, sports complexes, shopping facilities, restaurants and cafes, hotels, sanatoria, theaters and cinemas, museums, underground and over-ground crossings, in all types of transport, bus stops, stations, airports, payphones, elevators, common areas of multi-apartment buildings, beaches, workplaces of all organizations, regardless of the form of ownership.
