AFFA did not pay premiums to football players of Azerbaijan
The spokesman for AFFA Mikail Narimanoglu categorically denied some media reports on the payment of cash prizes to the players to the national soccer team of Azerbaijan for the draw against Russia.
"The footballers were not paid any premiums for this match," Narimanoglu told Turan.
The match ended in a 1-1 draw and this result caused the Russian national team to provide a direct ticket to the World Cup 2014 in Brazil.
Prior to the match officials had acknowledged that the players were promised a prize for their victory over the Russian team. After the game a number of sources reported on the payment of 60 thousand manats to each player for the draw. -06D -
